India's Early Warning System Cuts Forecast Time 50%

The Multi-Hazard Early Warning Decision Support System (MHEW-DSS) has automated India's weather forecasting, reducing forecast preparation time by 50% and improving accuracy by 30%.
The system provides impact-based warnings to nearly 80% of India's population and has reduced evacuation costs to one-third since 1999.
MHEW-DSS has generated cost savings of ₹250 crore through self-reliance and eliminated dependence on foreign vendors.
