Theme of the roundtable: "From Insight to Action: Closing Skills Gaps for Growth"
India Skills Accelerator was announced in January 2026 after approval by the Union Cabinet
The initiative is operated by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship
It is part of the World Economic Forum's 'Global Accelerators Network'
Focus sectors include Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Green Economy
Objectives: align skill systems with changing labor market needs, develop innovative skill financing models, accelerate workforce capacity building
Roundtable co-chaired by: Shri Jayant Chaudhary (Minister of State for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship and Education), Dr. Sukanta Majumdar (Minister of State for Education and North Eastern Region Development), Ms. Sobhana Kamineni (Executive Chairperson, Apollo Hospitals Limited), and Mr. Sanjiv Bajaj (Chairman & Managing Director, Bajaj Finserv)
Mr. Mirek Dusek, Managing Director of World Economic Forum, was also present
