Cabinet approves two railway multitracking projects totaling 601 km at cost of Rs 24,815 crore for completion by 2030-31.
Ghaziabad-Sitapur line (403 km) to cost Rs 14,926 crore, Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam line (198 km) at Rs 9,889 crore.
Projects will generate 409 lakh human-days employment and save 180.31 crore kg CO₂ emissions equivalent to 7.33 crore trees.
Enhanced capacity to handle additional 64.76 MTPA freight traffic across 15 districts in Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
