CCEA approves two Indian Railways multi-tracking projects totaling 601 km at cost of ₹24,815 crore for completion by 2030-31.
Ghaziabad-Sitapur line (403 km) costs ₹14,926 crore, targets 35.72 MTPA additional freight, saves ₹2,877 crore annual logistics cost.
Rajahmundry-Visakhapatnam line (198 km) costs ₹9,889 crore, targets 29.04 MTPA additional freight, saves ₹1,151 crore annual logistics cost.
Projects will generate 409 lakh human-days employment, reduce CO₂ emissions by 180.31 crore kg equivalent to 7.33 crore trees.
