The Ministry of Minority Affairs' Jiyo Parsi Scheme has achieved significant outcomes in supporting the Parsi community's population stabilization efforts. Since the scheme's inception in 2013, cumulative financial assistance has been provided to 582 beneficiaries for treatment of infertility issues, childbearing, childbirth, and Post Natal Care under the Medical components. Additionally, since 2018-19, 1,055 beneficiaries have received financial assistance under the Health of Community component.
The scheme has reported 534 births in the Parsi community since 2014-15, which has brought hope for stabilizing the community's declining population. Independent third-party evaluation studies have reported the scheme as successful in meeting its targets. The total expenditure incurred since inception amounts to ₹37.43 crore.
Financial assistance breakdown for the last three financial years shows varying allocations across components. In 2023-24, Medical component received ₹0.11 crore, Health of Community received ₹2.53 crore, and Advocacy received ₹0.10 crore. In 2024-25, allocations were ₹0.39 crore for Medical, ₹2.66 crore for Health of Community, and ₹0.06 crore for Advocacy. For 2025-26, Medical component received ₹0.24 crore, Health of Community received ₹2.93 crore, and Advocacy received ₹0.29 crore.
The scheme includes extensive awareness and outreach activities such as workshops, interaction sessions, registration drives, bio-authentication drives, and monthly dissemination of information through major Parsi newspapers. Under the advocacy component, no direct financial assistance is provided to beneficiaries.
