The Department of Land Resources under the Ministry of Rural Development is preparing to implement Special Campaign 6 from October 2 to October 31, 2026, as announced by the Government of India. The campaign focuses on institutionalizing swachhata (cleanliness) and minimizing pendency in government offices. The department will conduct the campaign across all three of its premises: Kartavaya Bhawan-3, CGO Complex, and Shivaji Stadium Annex.
During the preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026, efforts are focused on identifying targets for reducing pendencies, reviewing records, discarding e-waste and obsolete items, and planning cleanliness initiatives. The department reported significant achievements during the previous Special Campaign 5.0, including successfully conducting 16 cleanliness campaigns in departmental premises, achieving 100% disposal of public grievances and appeals, and reviewing 2,415 files (including both physical files and e-files) for recording, weeding, or closing.
On September 17, 2026, the Secretary of the Department of Land Resources inspected the CGO Complex office, including the Record Room, and addressed staff members on the value of cleanliness. The Secretary highlighted the Prime Minister's vision for Swachhata and noted the profound nationwide impact of the cleanliness movement. He emphasized that maintaining a clean environment is a collective duty vital for a healthy and developed society that should extend beyond government offices into homes, neighborhoods, and local communities. The Secretary urged everyone to take personal responsibility for maintaining clean surroundings by properly identifying and disposing of obsolete items, e-waste, and unserviceable materials at both home and workplace, while also emphasizing that reviewing, recording, and weeding out old files must be undertaken as a matter of priority.
The Department actively supports Special Campaign 6 by driving initiatives in workplace hygiene, streamlined record management, responsible waste handling, and effective space utilization. This content may not be financially relevant.
