Law Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal launched the e-VSP Portal of Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan, the publishing arm of the Legislative Department, at an event held at Kartavya Bhawan-2, New Delhi on July 15, 2026. The portal represents a milestone in expanding digital access to legal knowledge by making important judgments of the Supreme Court and High Courts, legal journals, reference books, and other legal literature available in Hindi language online. The platform is accessible at www.vsp.gov.in and is designed to serve lawyers, judicial officers, teachers, students, and citizens across the world.
Minister Meghwal emphasized the need for using simple, lucid, and citizen-friendly Hindi in the legal domain, noting that the language of law should be easily comprehensible to common citizens to make the legal system more accessible and inclusive. He also connected the initiative to the Digital India vision of the Prime Minister and underscored the importance of preserving India's rich cultural heritage and civilizational values through legal literature.
Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Legislative Department, stated that the portal provides seamless digital access to publications of Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan, enabling convenient access and download of legal publications, law journals, and reference materials from a single platform. Dr. Manoj Kumar, Additional Secretary, highlighted five significant outcomes: expansion of geographic reach for Hindi legal publications, easier discovery and access to legal knowledge, connection with new generation readers, strengthening Hindi as a language of legal understanding and professional discourse, and creating a wider ecosystem for Hindi legal publication development.
The technical implementation was handled by NIC, with Dr. Brijesh Singh and Sh. Ashvani from the Legislative Department overseeing the project. The launch event included cultural performances by students from Delhi Public School and Hansraj College, featuring Saraswati Vandana and Bharat Natyam to mark the importance of India's cultural heritage. Senior officers of the Legislative Department and other distinguished guests attended the event.
