The Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice organized a workshop on "E-Waste Disposal" on October 15, 2026, at Kartavya Bhawan-2 in New Delhi as part of Special Campaign 6. The workshop was chaired by Shri G. Panmei, JS&LC, and attended by officers and staff members from the Department and its attached offices including the Official Languages Wing and Vidhi Sahitya Prakashan.
During the workshop, Smt. Rachna, General Secretary of INDIA-AIDS NGO, along with her team, emphasized the importance of proper disposal and management of electronic waste, highlighting its adverse environmental impact and the need for responsible handling of obsolete and unusable electronic equipment. The session focused on adopting environmentally sustainable practices and preventing indiscriminate disposal of electronic waste.
Shri G. Panmei expressed gratitude to the NGO team for creating awareness among officers and employees about responsible e-waste management. He urged all departmental personnel to ensure that obsolete electronic equipment is disposed of in accordance with applicable rules and procedures, emphasizing that effective e-waste management is essential for environmental protection, resource conservation, and fostering a cleaner, more sustainable workplace.
