Law Ministry issued first instalment of Rs 401.50 crore for FY 2026-27 under Centrally Sponsored Scheme for district court infrastructure development.
Scheme extended temporarily until September 30, 2026, with proposal for 5-year extension until 2030-31 and new litigant waiting hall component.
Total Rs 12,844.72 crore released since scheme inception, constructing 6,345 court halls and 4,023 residential units as of March 31, 2026.
