The Legislative Department of the Ministry of Law and Justice observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 30 October 2026, ahead of the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on 31 October 2026. The ceremony was held at Kartavya Bhawan-2 in New Delhi at 11:30 AM following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Legislative Department, administered the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas Pledge. Additional Secretaries Dr. Manoj Kumar and Ms. Akali V. Konghay along with other senior officers were present. Officers and staff from the Department, including those from the Official Language Wing and Vidhi Sahityan Prakashan (VSP), participated in the pledge-taking ceremony.
During the pledge, participants dedicated themselves to preserving the unity, integrity, and security of the nation, spreading this message among fellow citizens, and contributing to the country's internal security. The observance commemorates Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's role in the integration of princely states into the Union of India. Rashtriya Ekta Diwas is observed annually on 31 October to honor Patel's birth anniversary.
