Conference was inaugurated on June 8, 2026 by Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla
Valedictory address delivered by Governor of Haryana, Prof. Asim Kumar Ghosh
Presiding Officers from legislatures of 12 states participated: Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Sikkim, and West Bengal
Conference adopted four resolutions on June 9, 2026:
Resolution 1: To deepen engagement between legislators and citizens through outreach programmes and public awareness initiatives aimed at promoting constitutional values and responsible use of technology
Resolution 2: To strengthen capacity of legislators through continued professional training, exchange of best practices, use of modern technologies, and enhanced research support
Resolution 3: To strengthen legislative oversight and enhance public trust in democratic processes and ensure greater citizen participation in policy formulation and implementation
Resolution 4: To encourage greater use of digital technologies, artificial intelligence and data-driven decision-making for enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in public service delivery
Lok Sabha Speaker emphasized that frequent interruptions and disruptions in Houses pose serious challenge to democratic institutions
Emphasis placed on increasing participation of youth and women in democratic processes
Focus on cultivating awareness about Constitution and sense of duty from student life
Objective stated to build participatory democracy with special importance to development of states
Nearly 40 speakers gave suggestions during the conference
Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Shri Harivansh, and Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Shri Harvinder Kalyan shared views
Deputy Speaker of Haryana Legislative Assembly, Shri Krishan Lal Middha presented vote of thanks
