Lt Gen Sandeep Jain Assumes Southern Command

Lieutenant General Sandeep Jain assumed command as General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command on April 1, 2026.
He has a distinguished career spanning nearly four decades with command roles in counter-insurgency, UN missions, and high-altitude areas.
On assuming command, he emphasized operational readiness across diverse areas and strengthening jointness and indigenous capabilities.
