The Ministry of Culture has launched the PM Mementos e-Auction 2026 as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, featuring 89 cultural items representing Maharashtra's heritage. The collection showcases the state's historical legacy, artistic traditions, and contemporary achievements through various artifacts including sculptures, paintings, commemorative pieces, religious artifacts, sports memorabilia, and infrastructure models.
The collection prominently features multiple mementos depicting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in various artistic styles, including statues portraying him on horseback, seated on a throne, alongside a lion, and in ceremonial settings. Other historical pieces include a silver statue, woodcut portrait, framed artwork, and a scale model of the Meghadambari at Raigad Fort.
Several artworks celebrate Maharashtra's Bhakti traditions, with depictions of Sant Tukaram with traditional musical instruments and artworks portraying Sant Dnyaneshwar in meditation. The collection also highlights indigenous Warli art traditions, including paintings combining portraits of tribal leader Birsa Munda with Warli motifs, and works depicting rural life, farming, celebrations, and community traditions using distinctive geometric forms.
Sports memorabilia includes a badminton racket signed by para-badminton player Sukant Kadam and signed items from Paralympian Sachin Khilari. Infrastructure representation includes presentation models of Vadhavan Port, the Thane-Borivali Twin Tunnel Project, and Navi Mumbai International Airport. The collection also features portraits and sculptures of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Ahilyabai Holkar, and Peshwa Bajirao I.
The e-auction is live until October 2, 2026, with participation details and complete catalogue available on the official portal pmmementos.gov.in. This cultural initiative presents a cross-section of Maharashtra's cultural identity through historical personalities, spiritual traditions, folk art, religious architecture, sporting accomplishments, and contemporary infrastructure projects.
