The Ministry of Textiles reported that 96 companies, including 39 MSMEs, have been selected under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles, with an investment of ₹7,970 crore and 31,283 jobs created.
The PLI scheme for textiles has resulted in a turnover of ₹9,154 crore and exports of ₹902 crore, as part of the 'Make in India 2.0' initiative covering 27 sectors.
The National Technical Textiles Mission, launched in 2020 with an outlay of ₹1,480 crore, aims to boost the technical textiles sector through research, development, and market promotion.
