Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya addressed the Viksit Bharat Yuva Samvaad programme at S. M. Jadeja Arts and Commerce College in Kutiyana, Porbandar district, Gujarat on October 17, 2026. The Minister emphasized the critical role of youth in nation-building and achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, calling them the torchbearers of India's development journey.

Dr. Mandaviya highlighted that efforts are underway under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance to develop one lakh young leaders across the country. He pointed to the MY Bharat portal as a key platform providing opportunities for youth participation, career guidance, and leadership development. Additional initiatives include visits to border villages and interactions with personnel serving in challenging locations like the Siachen Glacier, designed to foster courage, responsibility, and patriotism among youth.

The Minister reiterated the five pledges (Panch Pran) articulated by Prime Minister Modi from the Red Fort: resolve for a developed India, freedom from colonial mindset, pride in India's heritage, unity and solidarity, and fulfilment of civic duties. He urged young people to embrace these principles and cultivate character, discipline, service, dedication, respect for elders, self-reliance, and hard work.

Addressing contemporary challenges, Dr. Mandaviya cautioned youth about social media consumption, emphasizing the importance of avoiding rumors, relying on credible news sources, and remaining vigilant against misinformation that could undermine national unity. He also reinforced the Nasha Mukt Bharat initiative, calling upon youth to actively contribute to building a drug-free India and work collectively toward the goal of a fully developed nation by 2047 with the resolve "We Will Do It."
