Meghalaya became the 12th state to sign a reform-linked MoU under Jal Jeevan Mission 2.0, committing to sustainable rural water service delivery.
The Union Cabinet has approved an additional outlay of ₹1.51 lakh crore for the mission, with ₹67,300 crore allocated in the 2025-26 budget.
Meghalaya has achieved 83.59% tap water coverage and will focus on decentralised, community-managed water supply systems under the agreement.
