The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is soliciting public opinion and stakeholder input on the design of network architecture for the proposed Pan India dedicated Broadband Public Protection and Disaster Relief (BB-PPDR) Communication System. This network aims to provide Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT), Mission Critical Data, and Mission Critical Video capabilities to State/UT Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF), Fire Service, Medical Service, and other public safety agencies across the country.
MHA is specifically seeking inputs on design options, technology to be adopted, comparative merits and demerits of different approaches, cost efficiency, and suitability to Indian conditions. The Concept Note detailing the proposal has been uploaded on the websites of MHA under Home/Documents/Orders and Circulars, and on the DCPW website under Home/Documents/Stakeholder Consultations, Home/Announcements, and Home/What's New sections.
All stakeholders are invited to submit their comments and inputs to dd-ppdr@dcpw.gov.in and ad.ppdr@dcpw.gov.in by November 5, 2026, with the subject line "BB-PPDR Architecture — Stakeholder Feedback". This consultation represents a significant step in developing critical communication infrastructure for India's emergency and public safety services.
