The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has launched the Create in India Challenge Season 2, a flagship initiative under the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2027. The program invites proposals from industry associations, organizations, and institutions working in the Media and Entertainment Sector for conceptualizing, designing, and executing industry-led challenges.
For Season 2, a unified portal (https://wavesbazaar.com/create-india-challenge/season2/ifp) has been created for submission of proposals and selection of challenges through a transparent and merit-based mechanism. The initiative aims to execute more than 50 industry-led, government-supported, youth-oriented challenges with special focus on emerging areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Digital & Social Media, and AVGC-XR sector.
The challenges are designed to identify and nurture creative talent, promote upskilling and capacity building, provide mentoring and training, encourage innovation, and create opportunities for collaboration across Media & Entertainment domains. Selected challenges may be eligible for a One-Time Grant of up to ₹1 crore per challenge, subject to evaluation criteria including proposal focus, outcome orientation, upskilling initiatives, and grassroots outreach.
Proposals may cover diverse domains within the M&E industry including Animation, VFX, Online Social Gaming, E-Sports, Comics, XR/AR/VR, Films, Broadcasting, Music & Dance, and other emerging sectors. The submission deadline is July 31, 2026, with winning outcomes to be showcased at 'CreatoSphere' during WAVES 2027. This follows the successful implementation of 33 industry-led challenges during CIC-Season 1, advancing the vision of 'Create in India, Create for the World.'
