The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs provided details on the implementation challenges of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), a generic application designed to cater to the diverse rules of procedure, practices, and business processes across State/UT Legislatures. The main implementation hurdles included addressing variations in ICT infrastructure, baseline digitalization levels, digital capacity, and the adoption of paperless legislative processes by stakeholders.
These challenges were addressed through multiple measures: incorporation of suitable configurations in the application itself, financial assistance for procuring ICT infrastructure and technical manpower, capacity-building and orientation programs, handholding support, and continuous coordination with the concerned State/UT Legislatures. This information was formally provided by the Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Law and Justice and Minister of State of Parliamentary Affairs, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.
