The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has announced the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards (TNNAA) for the year 2024. The awards cover four categories: Land Adventure, Water Adventure, Air Adventure, and Lifetime Achievement. The awards recognize outstanding achievements in adventure activities and aim to promote endurance, risk-taking, teamwork, and effective decision-making in challenging situations.

The Government has approved four awardees for TNNAA 2024: Ms. Baljeet Kaur (Land Adventure), Shri Skalzang Rigzin (Land Adventure), Shri Rimo Saha (Water Adventure), and Shri Shiv Prasad Chamoli (Life Time Achievement). Each awardee will receive a statuette, a certificate, and award money of Rs. 15 lakh. The President of India will confer the awards at Rashtrapati Bhavan during a ceremony that will be held alongside the National Sports Awards 2025, with the specific date to be announced separately.

The selection process was conducted by the National Selection Committee, which evaluated nominations and recommended the awardees following due scrutiny. The awards seek to promote courage, endurance, discipline, risk-taking, and cooperative teamwork among youth while encouraging wider participation in adventure activities across India. This initiative underscores the Government's commitment to nurturing a culture of courage, resilience, and excellence in adventure sports.
