The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs is organizing the Prize Distribution Function for the 27th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2025-26 for Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The event will take place on September 10, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju will preside over the function and distribute prizes to winning students and Vidyalayas.
PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Ukhrul-1, Manipur (Shillong Region) secured first place in the competition and will present a repeat performance of their "Youth Parliament Sitting" during the ceremony. The competition involved 100 Vidyalayas spread across 8 regions of the Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti throughout India.
Seven additional Vidyalayas will receive merit trophies for ranking first in their respective regions: PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Kollam, Kerala (Hyderabad Region); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Theog, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (Chandigarh Region); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Suratgarh, Sriganganagar-II, Rajasthan (Jaipur Region); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Malhar, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh (Bhopal Region); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Valsad, Gujarat (Pune Region); PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Purulia, West Bengal (Patna Region); and PM Shri Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Udham Singh Nagar, Uttarakhand (Lucknow Region).
The Ministry has been conducting Youth Parliament Competitions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas for 30 years. The program aims to instill democratic values among youth, including self-discipline, tolerance of diverse opinions, and effective expression of views. It also familiarizes students with parliamentary procedures, discussion techniques, and develops leadership qualities and public speaking skills.
