The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs held the prize distribution function for the 36th National Youth Parliament Competition, 2025-26 for Kendriya Vidyalayas on June 25, 2026, at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in Parliament House Complex, New Delhi. Union Minister Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) of the Ministry of Law and Justice and Minister of State in the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, presided over the event and distributed prizes to winning students and Kendriya Vidyalayas.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, President Estate, New Delhi (Delhi Region, North Zone) won first prize at the national level and was awarded the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Running Parliamentary Shield and National Trophy. The school presented a repeat performance of their Youth Parliament sitting during the event. The competition involved 200 Kendriya Vidyalayas across 25 regions, with regional winners competing at zonal and national levels.

Zonal Winner Trophies were awarded to four schools: Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mathura Cantt., Mathura, Uttar Pradesh (Agra Region) for West Zone; PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 AFS, Madurai (Chennai Region) for South Zone; PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya No.2, Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal (Bhopal Region) for Central Zone; and PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station, Borjhar Guwahati (Guwahati Region) for East Zone. Additionally, 20 regional winner trophies were awarded to Kendriya Vidyalayas across various regions including Jammu, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Dehradun, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ranchi, Jabalpur, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Varanasi, Tinsukia, Kolkata, Silchar, and Bhubaneswar.

In his address, Minister Meghwal congratulated the students for their demonstration of parliamentary procedures and urged them to internalize democratic values, parliamentary ethics, and national harmony. He referenced former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's message, encouraging students to dream big and work with well-defined plans. The minister also administered the LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) Pledge to all attendees to inspire adoption of healthy lifestyles for environmental conservation.

Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal, Secretary of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, highlighted the program as an important platform for nurturing democratic values among youth and noted that approximately 200 Kendriya Vidyalayas currently participate annually, with plans to expand to 250-300 Kendriya Vidyalayas in the future. Dr. Satya Prakash, Additional Secretary, encouraged students to lead in emerging areas like Artificial Intelligence, innovation, and technology to make India a global source of ideas and cutting-edge technologies.

Ms. Chandana Mandal, Additional Commissioner (Academic) of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, described the program as a brilliant initiative that develops important life skills including listening to differing viewpoints and engaging in constructive dialogue. Shri A.B. Acharya, Director of the Ministry, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all participants and stakeholders involved in the successful conduct of the competition.
