The Ministry of Women and Child Development has opened the nomination process for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2026 awards. Applications became available online starting April 1, 2026, with the submission deadline set for July 31, 2026. All nominations must be submitted through the official portal at https://awards.gov.in.

The awards recognize exceptional achievements by Indian children across six distinct categories: Bravery (for children who risked their lives to save others or showed outstanding courage), Sports (for those who achieved accolades at national or international level competitions), Social Service (for initiatives that help reform society, preserve the environment, assist the underprivileged, or support national causes), Science & Technology (for innovations, research, or prototypes), Environment (for sustainable practices, awareness campaigns, or eco-innovations), and Art & Culture (for extraordinary talent in music, dance, writing, painting, performance, or other arts).

Eligibility is limited to Indian citizens currently residing in India who are between 5 and 18 years of age as of July 31, 2026. The Ministry accepts both self-nominations and third-party recommendations. Applicants must provide basic personal details, select their award category, upload a recent photograph and supporting documents, and submit a detailed write-up of up to 1000 words describing their achievement and its impact.

The Ministry is actively encouraging schools, institutions, parents, mentors, and the general public to identify and nominate deserving children to ensure national recognition of exceptional talent.
