The Ministry of Minority Affairs has implemented significant digital initiatives and welfare measures for Indian Haj pilgrims during Haj 2026. The key digital enhancement is the launch of Haj Suvidha App 2.0, which provides end-to-end information and services including travel schedules, accommodation details, baggage information, emergency contacts, SOS features, health information, advisories, and grievance redressal mechanisms. Pilgrims can register and track grievances through the app for timely resolution.

The application and selection process for Haj is now conducted entirely online through the portal and app using a transparent computerized system. Financial transactions have been streamlined with secure online payment modes, and pilgrims can indicate preferred flight dates and timings subject to operational feasibility. The physical submission of passports has been eliminated, allowing digital submission of passport details to reduce paperwork and processing time while minimizing visits to State/UT Haj Committees.

Substantial welfare improvements include hotel-style accommodation arrangements in Makkah with enhanced amenities and services. In Mina camps, traditional accommodation has been upgraded with sofa-cum-beds for greater comfort and space utilization. Medical infrastructure has been established with clinics, medical centers, and dispensaries at key pilgrimage locations, staffed by qualified doctors, paramedics, and medical personnel deputed to Saudi Arabia.

Every pilgrim receives comprehensive insurance coverage of up to ₹6.25 lakh for financial protection against unforeseen contingencies. Transportation has been improved with High-Speed Rail facilitation between Makkah and Madinah, significantly reducing travel time while enhancing safety and convenience. Special provisions require pilgrims aged 65 years and above to be accompanied by a companion to ensure adequate support throughout the pilgrimage.
