Nationwide VB-G RAM G Act Awareness Campaign Achieves Significant Participation
The Ministry of Rural Development has successfully organized a nationwide campaign of district-level Panch Sammelans to facilitate effective implementation of the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act, 2025 (VB-G RAM G Act). A total of 1,338 Panch Sammelans have been conducted across the country, achieving participation from more than 5.26 lakh Panchayati Raj representatives, functionaries, and officials/staff members.
Twenty-three States and Union Territories have completed their scheduled Panch Sammelans, including Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Mizoram, Nagaland, Punjab, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, Jammu & Kashmir, and Puducherry. Several states adopted innovative multi-tiered approaches to expand outreach, with Gujarat, Jammu & Kashmir, and West Bengal organizing sammelans at multiple administrative levels beyond just district level.
The VB-G RAM G Act, 2025 places Gram Panchayats at the center of the rural development process, entrusting them with responsibilities relating to planning, implementation, monitoring, transparency, and social accountability. The Panch Sammelans served as platforms to familiarize representatives with various provisions of the Act, including the Viksit Gram Panchayat Plan (VGPP), Rural Rozgar Guarantee Card, asset creation, convergence mechanisms, social audit, and grievance redressal systems.
The campaign demonstrates active participation, commitment, and strong ownership by States and Union Territories toward implementing the Act, laying a foundation for rural development, good governance, participatory planning, and strengthening of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
