The Ministry of Rural Development has launched SHE-LEAPS (Self-Help Entrepreneur-Livelihoods and Enterprise Application for Prosperity and Sustainability), a digital platform developed by Digital India Corporation under the LokOS platform. The application was launched on June 29, 2026, at the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan in New Delhi with the theme 'Gramodaya Se Rashtrodaya'.
SHE-LEAPS is designed to empower women associated with Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across rural India through a unified platform for enterprise creation and performance tracking. The platform supports both farm and non-farm rural enterprises, capturing real-time operational data across sectors and tracking the complete livelihood journey from profile creation to enterprise performance. It will be implemented across 34 States and Union Territories, assisting State Rural Livelihood Missions in selected regions.
The platform aims to integrate rural producers with formal value chains, enhance financial inclusion of SHG households, and enable data-driven rural entrepreneurship. It strengthens the Lakhpati Didi mission by providing end-to-end tracking of income growth and enterprise performance. The government has increased the Lakhpati Didi scheme target from 3 crore to 6 crore women and plans to release ₹10 lakh crore over the next five years to benefit Lakhpati Didis, reflecting a major commitment towards women's empowerment and rural economic development.
SHE-LEAPS operates under the LokOS platform, which digitizes activities of community-based organizations including SHGs, Village Organizations, and Cluster Lever Federations by maintaining member records, financial transactions, livelihood records, and tracking convergence initiatives. The platform improves visibility into rural economic activities and strengthens monitoring at multiple levels to support both local and national decision-making for inclusive and sustainable rural transformation.
