The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs launched an upgraded version of the National Youth Parliament Scheme (NYPS) web portal, designated as NYPS 2.0, on September 11, 2024. The key enhancement of this version is the expansion of eligibility beyond students of recognized institutions to include all educational institutions, groups, and individual citizens across India.
Since its launch through July 21, 2026, the portal has recorded substantial nationwide participation with a total of 4,877 institutional registrations, 691 group registrations, and 48,508 individual registrations across all 36 states and union territories. The state-wise breakdown shows significant variation in participation levels.
Madhya Pradesh recorded the highest institutional registrations at 620, followed by Uttarakhand (792), Himachal Pradesh (758), and Jammu & Kashmir (480). For individual registrations, Madhya Pradesh led with 13,404 participants, followed by Delhi (3,204), Jammu & Kashmir (3,391), and Uttar Pradesh (5,437). Uttar Pradesh had the highest group registrations at 129, followed by Madhya Pradesh (88) and Maharashtra (54).
Several union territories showed minimal participation, with Lakshadweep recording only 2 institutional and 1 individual registration, and Ladakh recording 4 institutional and 15 individual registrations. The data encompasses participation from all regions including Andaman & Nicobar Islands (27 institutions, 40 individuals), Arunachal Pradesh (12 institutions, 46 individuals), and other northeastern states.
