The Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched the 'Poshan Tracker' digital application, an ICT-based tool designed for monitoring and reviewing nutrition outcomes including stunting, wasting, and under-weight prevalence among children under 5 years of age. The application serves as part of Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 (Mission Poshan 2.0) and facilitates near real-time data collection for Anganwadi Services such as opening of AWCs, daily attendance of children, Early Childhood Care and Education activities, growth monitoring of children, and distribution of Hot Cooked Meal and Take-Home Ration.
The Poshan Tracker includes a public dashboard available at https://www.poshantracker.in/statistics that provides year-wise information on beneficiary coverage under the Mission. Data accuracy has been improved through the Supportive Supervision module, a dedicated digital platform within the application designed to enhance effective real-time monitoring at all administrative levels including Supervisor, CDPO, and DPO.
Under Mission Poshan 2.0, 1,29,415 Anganwadi Centres have been upgraded to Saksham Anganwadis over the last five years. The Mission provisions a set of 4 Growth Monitoring Devices at all Anganwadi Centres across the country, including Infantometer and Stadiometer for length and height measurement, and Weighing Scale-Infant and Weighing Scale-Mother & Child for weight measurement. Data entry on the Poshan Tracker application is performed by Anganwadi Workers using smartphones with data recharge facility provisioned under the Mission, while the Central Government releases funds for Growth Monitoring Devices on a cost-sharing basis to all States and Union Territories.
