The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs organized a cleanliness drive titled 'Ek Din – Ek Ghanta – Ek Saath Shramdaan' at Navyug School, Peshwa Road, New Delhi on October 1, 2026, as part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) Campaign 2026. The event was led by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs & Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju and attended by Secretary of the Ministry Shri Nikunja Bihari Dhal, NDMC Chairman Shri Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, Additional Secretary Dr. Satya Prakash, Navyug School Principal Ms. Meenakshi Kaushik, along with ministry officials, teachers, and students.

Participants administered the Swachhata Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to making cleanliness an integral part of daily life. The program included plantation activities under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam Abhiyan' where officials planted saplings in the school campus, reflecting environmental responsibility objectives complementary to the cleanliness campaign.

In addresses to the gathering, NDMC Chairman Dwivedi expressed gratitude for the ministry choosing Navyug School as the venue. Secretary Dhal highlighted Mahatma Gandhi's vision for a clean India and recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission on October 2, 2014, noting the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign was launched in 2017 to strengthen public participation. Minister Rijiju emphasized that cleanliness cannot be confined to symbolic one-day activities but must be practiced daily, urging students to carry the message from school to homes and communities.

The event concluded with a collective resolve to make cleanliness an integral part of everyday life and contribute toward a cleaner, healthier, and more developed India (Viksit Bharat). This content may not be financially relevant.
