The Ministry of Ayush is implementing the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through State/UT Governments to strengthen Ayush infrastructure across India. While public health is a state subject, the ministry provides financial assistance for establishing new Ayush colleges in states with inadequate teaching institutions, setting up 50/30/10 bedded integrated Ayush hospitals, upgrading existing standalone government Ayush hospitals, and improving Ayush dispensaries including construction of new buildings in areas without Ayush facilities.
From 2014-15 to 2025-26, a total of ₹6,40,699.24 lakhs has been released to states and union territories under NAM for implementing various approved activities. States including Odisha can avail financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) as per NAM guidelines.
The state-wise allocation shows Uttar Pradesh received the highest amount at ₹1,06,421.56 lakhs, followed by Rajasthan (₹51,051.27 lakhs), Madhya Pradesh (₹47,884.45 lakhs), and Kerala (₹40,420.12 lakhs). Other significant allocations include Jammu and Kashmir (₹28,857.50 lakhs), Karnataka (₹28,942.03 lakhs), and Assam (₹26,133.90 lakhs). Odisha specifically received ₹11,941.69 lakhs during this period. The smallest allocation went to Ladakh at ₹705.11 lakhs.
