The Ministry of Ayush has implemented the Information Education and Communication (IEC) scheme to promote and propagate Ayush systems of medicine, including Yoga and Naturopathy, through various awareness activities and programs. Under this scheme, the ministry organizes National/State level Arogya Fairs representing all systems of Ayush, conducts Yoga Fests/Utsavs, and celebrates important days including International Day of Yoga on June 21st annually and Naturopathy Day on November 18th annually.
Expenditure details show a total of ₹98.81 crore spent over fiscal years 2023-24 to 2025-26 across various programs. International Day of Yoga received the highest funding at ₹97.99 crore over three years: ₹24.16 crore in FY2023-24, ₹16.45 crore in FY2024-25, and ₹57.38 crore in FY2025-26. National Level Arogya Fair expenditure totaled ₹6.30 crore (₹3.60 crore in 2023-24, ₹0.90 crore in 2024-25, and ₹1.80 crore in 2025-26), while State Level Arogya Fair spending was ₹2.07 crore (₹0.35 crore, ₹1.02 crore, and ₹0.70 crore respectively).
Yoga Parv/Fest programs saw expenditure of ₹0.49 crore (no spending in 2023-24, ₹0.29 crore in 2024-25, and ₹0.20 crore in 2025-26). Naturopathy Day celebrations cost ₹2.16 crore over three years (₹1.33 crore in 2023-24, ₹0.23 crore in 2024-25, and ₹0.60 crore in 2025-26). The beneficiaries covered under these events engage through both physical participation and digital outreach on various social media platforms, ensuring wider public outreach.
