National Cooperative Training Framework 2026 Consultation
The Ministry of Cooperation, in collaboration with Tribhuvan Sahkari University, organized the National-Level Agenda-Setting Consultation on the National Cooperative Training Framework (NCTF) 2026 on September 24, 2026, at Atal Akshaya Urja Bhawan in New Delhi. This initiative is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of "Sahkar se Samriddhi" and falls under the leadership of Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah, with the objective of strengthening, modernizing, and professionalizing the cooperative sector.
The consultation meeting was inaugurated by Krishan Pal Gurjar, Minister of State for Cooperation, who emphasized that the focus of cooperative training must be on quality and outcomes rather than merely increasing the number of training programs. He stressed that training interventions should result in stronger institutional capabilities, improved professional competencies, and better outcomes for cooperative institutions and their members.
Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan Sahkari University, highlighted the NCTF as a critical enabler for realizing the vision of cooperative prosperity. He emphasized the need to bring together and strengthen institutions engaged in cooperative training through a common architecture that ensures convergence, quality, relevance, reach, and continuity while addressing diverse regional requirements.
The consultation brought together senior officials from the Ministry of Cooperation and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, representatives from states and union territories, national-level cooperative federations, State Cooperative Unions, cooperative training institutions, sectoral developmental organizations, universities, and other institutions involved in cooperative training and capacity building.
This national consultation is the first of two planned national-level meetings under the NCTF process and will be followed by five Regional-Level Consultations covering North, South, East, West, and North-East India to ensure comprehensive coverage and input from all regions.
