The Ministry of Culture reported exceptional participation in the fifth year of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, observed from August 9 to 17, 2026, which coincided with the 150th anniversary of the national song Vande Mataram. The campaign saw more than 8.24 crore Tiranga selfies uploaded by citizens, with this year's selfie download including the lyrics and tune of Vande Mataram.

Participation spanned across states and union territories through various activities including Tiranga Yatras, cycle and motorcycle rallies, cultural processions, school and college programmes, public gatherings, and community celebrations. A significant event was the Tiranga Bike Rally of Members of Parliament, flagged off from Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi by Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan on August 12, dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram with participation from Union Ministers and Members of Parliament.

The campaign featured a global dimension through Suryapath Tiranga, a unique global relay where Indian Missions and Posts across different countries hoisted the Tiranga from east to west following the path of the rising sun on August 15. Private sector participation was notable with industry associations including FICCI, Assocham, and CII, along with businesses, corporates, retailers, e-commerce platforms, hospitality establishments, banks, and start-ups organizing Tiranga-themed workplace activities, employee programmes, and digital initiatives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi referenced the campaign in his Independence Day address from the Red Fort, stating that every heartbeat resonates with Vande Mataram and that there is "Har Ghar Tiranga Hai, Har Man Tiranga Hai" (the Tricolour in every home, the Tricolour in every heart). Secretary of Ministry of Culture Vivek Aggarwal emphasized that the campaign has become a powerful expression of people's love for the National Flag, bringing the Tiranga into homes and patriotism into everyday life. The campaign continues until August 17, 2026.
