The Department of Financial Services (DFS) under the Ministry of Finance is organizing a nationwide saturation campaign for Financial Inclusion (FI) schemes from October 21, 2026, to December 31, 2026. The campaign will cover 2.70 lakh Gram Panchayats (GP) and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) across the country with the objective of bringing citizens at the last mile into the formal financial system and building a more inclusive society.
During the campaign period, banks will conduct camps for multiple activities including enrollments under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). The camps will also facilitate Aadhaar seeding in PMJJBY and PMSBY, opening of PMJDY accounts, and Re-KYC for existing PMJDY and other savings accounts. Additional activities include generating C-KYC IDs where pending, updating nominations in savings accounts and other facilities like lockers, and conducting awareness sessions on FI schemes, digital frauds, and information about unclaimed financial assets under the 'Aapki Poonji, Aapka Adhikar' initiative.
The campaign will also support agricultural financing objectives by sourcing Kisan Credit Card (KCC) applications to achieve saturation of eligible PM-Kisan beneficiaries and enrolling farmers under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana for the upcoming Rabi season to support the saturation of KCC accounts. A preparatory meeting with senior management of banks and State Level Bankers' Committees (SLBC) was held under the chairmanship of JS(FI), DFS to coordinate the campaign. The progress will be closely monitored by key stakeholders including state administration, banks, and DFS.
