The Ministry of Labour & Employment, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a cleaner and more efficient government, has implemented measures to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and reduce administrative pendency across its departments, autonomous bodies, and field formations. Key achievements from December 2025 to August 2026 include the removal of 416 outdated physical files to declutter offices and improve record management, complete adoption of the e-Office platform enabling paperless workflows to strengthen transparency and productivity, resolution of 98% of 218,472 public grievances (amounting to 213,805 addressed), and disposal of 98% of 48,828 grievance appeals (47,850 resolved), underscoring a commitment to responsive and accountable governance. Additionally, over 1,000 cleanliness drives were conducted at various sites to promote hygienic and organized workplaces. The Ministry is now preparing for Special Campaign 6.0 from October 2 to 31, 2026, which will focus on effective e-waste management through identification, segregation, and environmentally responsible disposal of obsolete electronic equipment, alongside initiatives for record management, optimum office space utilization, and sustainable administrative practices to further enhance citizen-first governance.
