The Department of Justice, Ministry of Law and Justice, Government of India organized an Officer-Level Awareness Workshop under the Tele-Law Initiative of the DISHA 2.0 (Designing Innovative Solutions for Holistic Access to Justice) Scheme at the Mini Secretariat, Nuh, Haryana on 15 September 2026. The workshop was chaired by Shri Suresh Kumar, Joint Secretary, Department of Justice, and SDM of Nuh Shri Kunwar Aditya Vikram, CSC Vice President, along with representatives from Common Services Centres (CSCs), Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs), Panel Lawyers, Nyaya Sahayaks, and other key stakeholders working on grassroots justice access. A total of 150 participants attended the workshop.
The objective of the workshop was to enhance awareness about the Tele-Law programme, promote technology-enabled legal services, and strengthen coordination among stakeholders delivering legal assistance to citizens in rural and underserved areas. The program included an inaugural session with opening remarks by the Joint Secretary, followed by a presentation on the DISHA 2.0 Scheme highlighting its integrated implementation of Tele-Law, Nyaya Bandhu, Legal Literacy and Legal Awareness Programme (LLLAP), and VIDHI-Sanjeevani.
During technical sessions, participants were briefed on the functioning and impact of Tele-Law Services, the role of CSCs as grassroots access points for legal assistance, and the contribution of VLEs in facilitating legal consultations. The session emphasized leveraging digital platforms to bridge the gap between legal service providers and beneficiaries. A live demonstration of the Tele-Law Portal and the Nyaya Setu AI-enabled chatbot was conducted to familiarize participants with available digital tools for accessing legal information and advice.
The workshop concluded with an interactive stakeholder discussion focusing on implementation challenges, best practices, and opportunities for expanding legal services reach. Participants shared suggestions and raised queries regarding effective delivery of Tele-Law services in their jurisdictions. The event ended with a vote of thanks by Shri Gaurav Kumar Tripathi, Under Secretary, Department of Justice, reaffirming collective commitment toward strengthening access to justice and promoting legal empowerment across the country.
