The Ministry of Steel successfully concluded its Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 6, which ran from October 2 to October 31, 2026. The campaign involved active participation from the Ministry and its Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs), focusing on streamlining governance through disposal of pending matters and promoting cleanliness and efficiency in official functioning.

The campaign achieved significant results across multiple metrics: 100% of public grievances and Appeals redressal targets were met, 21,164 physical files were reviewed (achieving 101% of the set target), and 17,107 physical files were successfully weeded out. Additionally, 301 cleanliness drives were conducted against a target of 301, and approximately 17,501 square feet of office space was freed through the disposal of scrap, e-waste, and redundant files.

The campaign addressed pending matters across various categories including references from Members of Parliament, the Prime Minister's Office, VIPs and Cabinet, State Governments, and CPGRAMS cases. Several CPSEs under the Ministry implemented innovative best practices in record management and grievance resolution, setting benchmarks for other departments. The Ministry remains committed to enhancing administrative efficiency, promoting cleanliness, and ensuring timely resolution of pending matters in alignment with the Government of India's broader goals of administrative reforms, transparency, and good governance.
