The Ministry of Steel and its Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) are launching Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026. This initiative aims to strengthen the Ministry's commitment to cleanliness, sustainability, and efficient governance, with particular emphasis on effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste in accordance with the E-waste (Management) Rules, 2022.
The campaign builds on achievements from Special Campaign 5.0 conducted in October 2025, where the Ministry carried out extensive activities across its offices and PSUs. These efforts resulted in significant progress in clearance of pending matters, disposal of obsolete files, and space optimization, establishing foundations for sustainable record management and improved service delivery.
Special Campaign 6.0 will focus on four priority areas: e-waste management ensuring compliance with 2022 regulations; scaling up mechanized cleaning practices to maintain workplace hygiene; timely disposal of pendency related to PMO, State Governments, Parliament, and VIP matters; and utilizing digital platforms for awareness and public participation in cleanliness drives.
The campaign will be implemented in two phases: a preparatory phase from September 15-30, 2026 for target identification and groundwork, followed by an implementation phase from October 2-31, 2026 focusing on execution, monitoring, and measurable outcomes. The Ministry remains committed to setting new standards in Swachhata, grievance redressal, and sustainable practices aligned with efficient and citizen-centric governance goals.
