The Ministry of Steel will conduct an Open House on August 21, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM at the Steel Room, 3rd Floor, GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi, to discuss issues related to steel imports. The session specifically addresses concerns regarding SIMS (Steel Import Monitoring System), SARAL SIMS, and QCO (Quality Control Order) exemptions for imported steel products.

Companies and industry associations are invited to present their issues during the Open House, but must register in advance by sending an email to tech-steel[at]nic[dot]in by August 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM to secure confirmed time slots. The registration requires detailed information including: company/association name; industry type and product category (such as Auto, Aerospace, Telecom, or Defence); specific issue category (SIMS, SARAL SIMS, or QCO exemption); reference numbers of any existing applications; a brief 50-word description of the issue; and the name, designation, and contact details (mobile and email) of the single authorized participant.

Strict participation rules are enforced: only one representative per organization is permitted, third-party representations are not allowed, and walk-in attendees will not be accommodated due to logistical constraints. The Ministry aims to ensure wide participation through this structured approach while focusing on resolving import-related compliance challenges faced by various steel-consuming industries.
