The Ministry of Women and Child Development will host its Departmental Summit on October 8-9, 2026, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi. This summit is the second in a series envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen cooperative federalism and accelerate outcomes through closer Centre-State collaboration.
The two-day summit will focus on four key thematic areas: reimagining Anganwadi Centres for better nutrition and early education; strengthening protection systems for vulnerable children; ensuring women's safety through effective implementation of institutional and legislative frameworks; and enhancing women's empowerment through improved scheme outcomes.
Specific discussions will cover the quality of Take-Home Ration and Hot Cooked Meals, Poshan Tracker data quality improvement, Early Childhood Care and Education, protection systems for children including social media impact, and implementation challenges for women's safety. Participating states will share experiences, challenges, and best practices to arrive at consensus on agreed outcomes. The key outcomes and action plans will be presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the valedictory session for his guidance.
