The Ministry of Rural Development has operationalized the Self-Help Entrepreneur-Livelihoods and Enterprise Application for Prosperity and Sustainability (SHE-LEAPS), a digital platform launched on June 29, 2026 during the Rashtriya Gramin Vikas Sammelan. Developed under the LokOS digital platform, SHE-LEAPS captures enterprise-related information of Self Help Group (SHG) entrepreneurs under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), enabling real-time enterprise data capture for management and monitoring purposes across 34 States and Union Territories through State Rural Livelihood Missions.

The platform maintains comprehensive state-wise registration data showing a total of 11,22,871 SHG enterprises nationwide. Maharashtra leads with 3,68,795 enterprises, followed by Andhra Pradesh (1,56,851), Jharkhand (1,61,212), Assam (1,19,715), and Karnataka (57,731). Several states and UTs have minimal registrations, including Lakshadweep (0), Ladakh (11), and Kerala (38).

Specific data from Karnataka State Rural Livelihoods Mission (KSRLM) shows that 79,857 SHG enterprises were established through Community Investment Fund (CIF) assistance under DAY-NRLM over the last three years, with consistent annual growth: 21,438 in 2023-2024, 27,173 in 2024-2025, and 31,246 in 2025-2026.

The Ministry has implemented multiple measures to strengthen SHG enterprise sustainability and market competitiveness, including registering the national brands \"Saras\", \"SarasAajeevika\" and \"Aajeevika\" for product promotion. Twenty-five States have created state-level brands such as UMED (Maharashtra), Palash and Adiva (Jharkhand), Himira (Himachal Pradesh) and Mathi (Tamil Nadu). The Ministry organizes marketing events including two National-level SarasMelas, one Food Festival, and over 50 State-level SarasMelas annually.

Physical retail presence includes the SarasAajeevika Gallery in Central Delhi for curated SHG products, with states operating additional retail outlets under their brands. Digital commerce initiatives include the eSaras e-commerce platform and partnerships with major marketplaces including GeM, ONDC, Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho and JioMart to facilitate wider market access for SHG products.
