The Ministry of Cooperation is progressively promoting AI and digital platforms across cooperative training institutions through academic, training, and institutional initiatives. Technology-driven teaching pedagogy and learning platforms are being adopted by cooperative training institutions such as the RICM (Regional Institute of Cooperative Management) in Chandigarh, Punjab. The specific measures implemented include the use of smart classrooms equipped with interactive digital boards, projectors, and ICT-enabled teaching tools. Institutions are adopting blended learning approaches through e-content, online classes, and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Faculty members are receiving training in ICT tools and digital pedagogy, and these digital learning initiatives are reviewed periodically to ensure their effective utilization.
Capacity building for teachers and cooperative professionals is being supported through various programs including Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), refresher courses, seminars, workshops, webinars, and other professional development programmes. These programmes cover essential areas such as cooperative management, banking and finance, governance, digital banking, digital transformation, and other emerging areas relevant to the cooperative sector. This information was formally provided by Union Minister for Home and Cooperation Shri Amit Shah in a written reply presented in the Rajya Sabha on July 22, 2026.
