The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is implementing the e-Panchayat Mission Mode Project under the Rashtriya Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (RGSA) to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and accountability in Panchayati Raj Institutions through digital enablement across all states. The project includes applications such as eGramSwaraj for planning, budgeting, accounting, progress reporting and asset management, and AuditOnline for online auditing of Panchayat accounts.
As of FY 2025-26, out of 2,58,730 Gram Panchayats across states/UTs, 2,55,251 (98.65%) have uploaded their Gram Panchayat Development Plans on e-Gram Swaraj. Additionally, 2,45,839 Gram Panchayats (95%) have made payments totaling ₹57,337 crore through the e-GramSwaraj-PFMS interface. For audit period 2024-25, audit reports have been generated for 2,33,743 Gram Panchayats.
The Ministry has integrated eGramSwaraj with platforms including GeM, BSNL, and BHASHINI, along with weather information services, to improve transparency and decision-making at grassroots level. Under the revamped RGSA scheme, 3,73,422 elected representatives and Panchayat officials have been trained on e-Governance and digital platforms since 2023-24 to 2026-27 (as of 10.07.2026).
Thirty states/UTs are delivering online citizen services including Birth and Death Certificates, Marriage Registration, various certificates, pension services, land and property services, water and sanitation services, grievance redressal, and welfare scheme applications. Under e-Panchayat MMP, funds are provided to National Informatics Centre Services Inc. (NICSI) for application maintenance, with actual releases of ₹16.03 crore (2023-24), ₹13.47 crore (2024-25), ₹20.00 crore (2025-26), and ₹6.42 crore (2026-27).
For digital governance initiatives under revamped RGSA, funds released to states/UTs were ₹800.17 crore (2023-24), ₹670.40 crore (2024-25), ₹768.13 crore (2025-26), and ₹215.35 crore (2026-27 as of 10.07.2026). The 2025-26 releases comprise funds through both SNA till 30th June 2025 and SNA-SPARSH since 1st July 2025.
