Ministry of Youth Affairs Organizes Nationwide Youth Mobilization Against Substance Abuse

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is organizing a major nationwide youth mobilization event called 'Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh' on 20 September 2026 as part of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat – 100 Weeks Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan. The event will be conducted across 1,067 locations throughout India through MY Bharat and its partner organizations.

Participation Network and Geographic Coverage

The program involves 471 District MY Bharat Offices along with 596 locations of partner organizations, creating an extensive network that includes educational institutions, university bodies, industry associations, spiritual organizations, NGOs, and local partner organizations. Specific participating spiritual organizations include Maa Amritanandmayi Math (130 locations), Heartfulness (74 locations), and BAPS (56 locations). The partner network also includes EPSI, CIPU, AIU, Project Point, ASSOCHAM, CII, FICCI, 245 local partner organizations, and 18 MY Bharat chapters in private/premier institutes.

Event Activities and Format

The Rashtriya Sankalp Samaroh will feature Nasha Mukt Pledge ceremonies, signature campaigns, thematic street plays, slogan writing competitions, and youth-led discussions. These participatory formats are designed to create spaces for young people to express their views, engage with peers and communities, and translate awareness into positive action against substance abuse.

Previous Day Participation Metrics

The mobilization follows nationwide activities conducted on 18 September 2026, which marked the opening of the campaign's current phase. The first day recorded participation across 259 institutions, with 1,430 activities conducted and 146,520 participants mobilized across all 28 States and 8 Union Territories of India.

Campaign Structure and Themes

The 100 Weeks Nasha Mukt Yuva Abhiyan is being implemented as a sustained youth movement with focus on prevention, awareness, healthy lifestyles, and positive youth engagement. The first activity cycle is structured around three broad themes: 'My Health, My Pride'; 'Fit Youth, Addiction-Free Youth'; and 'Life Skills Month'. Activities are designed to promote health, fitness, community participation, and life skills development among youth.
