The document highlights 19-year-old Mohit Yadav, an Other Backward Class (OBC) student pursuing a B.Tech in Civil Engineering, who faced significant financial challenges in covering educational expenses including tuition, books, and hostel costs.
During the 2025–26 academic year, Mohit received financial assistance of ₹1,59,400 through a government scholarship program. This support substantially reduced the financial burden on his middle-class family and enabled uninterrupted continuation of his engineering education. The assistance allowed Mohit to maintain focus on his academic studies and career preparation while working toward his goal of securing employment to improve his family's financial condition.
The case study, released on August 11, 2026, through the PIB Delhi channel, serves as an example of how targeted scholarship programs can facilitate access to quality education for students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. The support specifically helped a civil engineering student overcome financial constraints that might otherwise have interrupted his technical education and career aspirations.
