The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has completed the preparatory phase for Special Campaign 6, the government's nationwide drive to clean offices, clear pending work, organize files, and improve institutional efficiency. The preparatory phase ran from September 15-30, 2026, ahead of the implementation phase scheduled for October 2-31, 2026.
MoPSW and its organizations have identified 11,153 files (6,605 physical files and 4,548 e-files) for review and disposal, along with 5,624 e-waste items for collection, segregation, and disposal in accordance with the E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022. The ministry is also addressing various pending matters including MP References, State Government References, Inter-Ministerial Communications, Parliamentary Assurances, PMO References, Public Grievances, and PG Appeals, as well as 185 Cleanliness Campaigns.
Coinciding with the preparatory phase, MoPSW is observing 'Swachhata Pakhwada' from September 16-30, 2026, which includes activities such as 'Shramdaan', cleanliness drives, cleaning of public places, repair of toilets, awareness activities, Waste-to-Wealth exhibitions, 'Swachhata Raths', cleaning of water bodies, plantation drives, and elimination of single-use plastic.
The ministry is coordinating through designated Nodal Officers with regular progress reviews. An evaluation phase assessing results and best practices is scheduled for November 16-30, 2026 under the national framework for Special Campaign 6.
