Ministry of Statistics released provisional Consumer Price Index data for March 2026 showing 3.40% year-on-year inflation at national level.
Food inflation reached 3.87% with rural areas (3.96%) experiencing higher inflation than urban areas (3.71%).
Silver jewelry showed highest inflation at 148.61% while onions had largest deflation at -27.76% among key items.
Price data was collected from 100% of targeted rural and urban markets with 99.93% response rate in rural areas.
