The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) reported significant achievements under its Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) conducted from November 2025 to August 2026. The campaign resulted in the review of 5,617 files (both physical and e-files), weeding of 467 physical files, closure of 4,680 e-files, and disposal of 426 public grievances plus 65 grievance appeals. Additionally, 61 cleanliness campaigns were conducted across the country, generating revenue of ₹34,105 through scrap disposal. The ministry also focused on disposing of PMO references, Parliamentary assurances, and State Government references.
The Government of India has launched Special Campaign 6.0, scheduled to run from October 2 to 31, 2026, with a specific focus on effective collection, segregation, and disposal of e-waste across field offices. The campaign is structured in two phases: a Preparatory Phase from September 15 to 30, 2026, and an Implementation Phase from October 2 to 31, 2026. The preparatory phase emphasizes identifying pending references from the PMO, VIPs, State Governments, and Parliament, assessing volumes of redundant materials for disposal, finalizing disposal procedures, and setting targets for e-waste management following MoEFCC guidelines. The campaign aims to institutionalize Swachhata practices and minimize office pendency while strengthening record and space management practices.
MoSPI, along with its attached office, subordinate offices including field offices, and autonomous body, has committed to actively participate in Special Campaign 6.0, building on the achievements of previous campaigns.
