The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI) released its June 2026 flash report on central sector infrastructure projects worth ₹150 crore and above, monitored through the PAIMANA portal. The report covers 1,847 ongoing projects with a total revised cost of ₹40.54 lakh crore across 17 Central Ministries/Departments, showing cumulative expenditure of ₹21.97 lakh crore representing 54.18% of the revised project cost.
Project implementation shows significant progress with 709 projects (approximately 39%) achieving over 80% physical progress and 337 projects (19%) crossing 80% financial completion. The portfolio includes 769 Mega projects (costing ₹1,000 crore and above) with an original cost of ₹30.51 lakh crore, and 1,078 Major projects (costing below ₹1,000 crore and up to ₹150 crore) amounting to ₹5.10 lakh crore.
Ministry-wise distribution shows the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways leads with 1,022 projects (55% of total) worth ₹9.89 lakh crore (24% of total cost), followed by Ministry of Railways with 255 projects (14%) worth ₹8.69 lakh crore (21%), and Ministry of Coal with 121 projects (7%) worth ₹2.22 lakh crore (6%). Other significant ministries include Petroleum & Natural Gas (105 projects, ₹4.33 lakh crore), Power (98 projects, ₹5.71 lakh crore), Housing & Urban Affairs (50 projects, ₹3.65 lakh crore), and Water Resources (40 projects, ₹2.04 lakh crore).
Sector-wise analysis using DEA's Harmonized Master List shows Transport & Logistics dominates with 1,341 projects (73% of total) worth ₹22.32 lakh crore (55% of total cost). Energy follows with 207 projects worth ₹10.38 lakh crore (26%), Communication infrastructure with 15 projects worth ₹2.64 lakh crore (7%), Water & Sanitation with 56 projects worth ₹2.08 lakh crore (5%), and Social & Commercial infrastructure with 88 projects worth ₹0.94 lakh crore (2%).
During June 2026, four major projects were completed: the Rajasthan Refinery Project (₹79,459 crore) under Petroleum & Natural Gas, Transmission System for Kurnool Wind Energy Zone/Solar Energy Zone (₹3,546.94 crore) under Power, and two road projects - 6L of Varadharajula to Kumarajapet (₹1,887.38 crore) and Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway Phase-I (₹1,578.66 crore) under Road Transport & Highways.
Seventeen new projects were added to monitoring in June 2026, including 14 from Road Transport & Highways and 3 from Telecommunications. Notable additions include the 6 Lane Greenfield Varanasi-Ranchi-Kolkata Highway Package-11 (₹1,856.12 crore), Package-12 (₹1,525.52 crore), and Development of 6-lane Greenfield Southern Ludhiana Bypass (₹1,424.55 crore).
The PAIMANA portal serves as a centralized web-based monitoring system with nearly 70% of data updated via APIs on the PAIMANA-CRIP portal, functioning as a national central repository for infrastructure projects. The next flash report for July 2026 will be released on August 25, 2026.
