The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) organized an industry dialogue on PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skill and Employment Capacity through Advanced ITIs) for the Rajasthan cluster
The event was held on 3 June 2026 at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change
The dialogue focused on practical measures for effective implementation in Bhivadi industrial center, Rajasthan
Bhivadi cluster is described as one of the fastest growing manufacturing regions in North India
The cluster has strong presence in automotive, engineering, electronics, logistics and emerging green industries
The event included a detailed presentation on the PM-SETU scheme followed by discussions and consultations with industry
Participants included major industry stakeholders, policymakers, and skill development system leaders
The dialogue aimed to strengthen industry participation in skill development initiatives
Objectives included aligning training with workforce requirements and creating employment opportunities for local youth
The symposium was chaired by Shri Bhupender Yadav, Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change
Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Education, co-chaired the symposium
PM-SETU aims to reduce recruitment and training costs for industries while improving employment opportunities for youth
The approach will directly benefit CSR beneficiaries and promote inclusive development
Sector Skill Councils can function as Anchor Industry Partners (AIP)
Industry can collaborate with universities as knowledge partners to strengthen training framework
There is emphasis on transforming Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into education centers equipped with modern infrastructure including sports facilities
ITIs should function as holistic 'finishing schools' for youth to ensure quality education and strong placement outcomes
